Lapel Pins Are In, Waiting on Print Production

Hey adventurers,

This will be a quick check-in update on where things stand with 80s Adventures.

Books Still in the Print Queue

There has not been a change yet in the production status of the books themselves. The files remain approved, locked, and sitting in the printer’s production queue. At this stage we are simply waiting for the project to move through their schedule and begin the full production run.

Once printing begins there will be two major milestones we will report on:

• Confirmation that the books have entered active production
• Freight departure once the finished books leave the printer

From there the books will ship to us via sea freight before fulfillment begins here at Dice Dungeons.

Lapel Pins Have Arrived

On the physical rewards side... the lapel pins for the campaign have arrived! These came in from the manufacturer recently and are now here with us. They look fantastic in person and we’ve already started staging them with the other fulfillment materials so everything is ready once the books land.

Where Things Stand

At this point everything on our side is prepared and waiting for the printer to begin the production run. As soon as we receive confirmation that printing has started or we have freight dates assigned, we will share that information immediately.

We know the waiting stage between final files and manufacturing can feel slow, but we are firmly in the last stretch of the process now. Thanks again for the patience and support. We’re looking forward to getting 80s Adventures out into the world.

Test Prints Approved and We’re in the Print Queue

Hey adventurers,

We’ve reached a major production milestone and wanted to share a snapshot of where 80s Adventures stands as we move into the final stages.

Test Prints Approved

Our test print copies have arrived, been reviewed in hand, and officially approved. We carefully checked color accuracy, paper stock, binding, trim, and layout consistency across the books and modules. Everything came back exactly where it needed to be, so no changes were required. With that approval complete, the files are now locked and cleared for full production.

Guide to Neon Dragons

We've also just released the PDF for the Guide to Neon Dragons. If you are receiving the softcover booklet you can now find the PDF version in your digital download on Backerkit!

Print Queue Status

We are officially in the printer’s production queue. Our printing partner is currently shut down for their scheduled holiday break. Our project is already queued and ready to move forward as soon as they return and resume operations.

Freight and Shipping Considerations

Once printing is complete, the books and modules will be shipped to us via sea freight. Due to the weight and volume of printed goods, this is the only practical option at this scale. Sea freight is reliable, but timing can be volatile depending on port congestion and scheduling, so we are building that variability into our timeline rather than assuming best-case transit windows.

Fulfillment Timeline

Based on our current position in the print queue and accounting for freight transit, we expect the first shipments of physical items, including the books, modules, lapel pins, and other physical rewards, to begin arriving to us in March. Fulfillment will begin as soon as items start landing.

All fulfillment for this project is being handled in house by our team. With freight variability accounted for, our current expectation is to have all backer orders packed and shipped between April and May of 2026.

Getting test prints approved is one of the most important milestones in the entire process, and it means we are firmly past the point of revision. From here, it’s manufacturing, freight, and fulfillment. We’ll continue to share updates as we receive production and shipping dates.

Major Updates: 2024 Digital Edition Released, Printing in Progress + Digital Content Now Live

Hey adventurers,

We’re back with another major update, and this one delivers on several of the biggest pieces of the project. The digital rewards are now moving into their final phase, printing prep is underway, and we’re ready to share some solid progress across the board.

The 2024 Digital Edition Is Now Available

The fully updated 2024 Rules Edition of the 80s Adventures book is now live in BackerKit for all eligible backers.

This version includes:

• All revised layout updates
• All edits and corrections gathered from community feedback
• The final polished rules version designed for your table

The VTT Token Pack Is Live

The full VTT Token Pack is now available in your BackerKit digital library. This pack contains every creature, NPC, and icon needed to bring the adventure modules into your favorite virtual tabletop.

With this release, both versions of the core book, all five adventure modules, and the VTT Token Pack are now fully available digitally.

Soundtrack Released

We’re also releasing the official 80s Adventures Soundtrack today in BackerKit.
This collection features all of the retro-inspired tracks created for the project, designed to match the tone and energy of each module. Whether you want ambient tension for a stealth op or full synth-wave heroics for the big showdown, the full soundtrack is now ready for download.

If you’ve been waiting to bring that classic 80s atmosphere to your table, it’s all available in your digital rewards library right now.

Printing Update

We have officially chosen our printing partner and are finalizing the last layout adjustments needed to prepare for production. We’ve moved the project firmly into the printing and production stage. Currently our printer is producing the sample prints, once we confirm it is correct we will get in queue for the production run. Once we have a firm date for printing, we will give a more accurate time frame for delivery of physical pledges. 

Fulfillment Timeline

Our current plan is Q1 2026 fulfillment. We will have a more exact date as soon as our printer gives us the exact timeline for the production run. 

Holiday schedules can slow communication slightly, but we don’t expect major setbacks at this time. As soon as we have a confirmed place in the print queue, we’ll share it immediately.

Accessory Production

All accessories tied to pledge tiers (including dice sets, fanny packs, and other physical add-ons) are complete! Dice, pins, and more are en-route to our shop and will be ready to ship as soon as the books arrive! 

Thank you for sticking with us through the production phase. The digital content is now complete, printing prep is moving ahead, and we’re eager to show the first test print samples as soon as they’re ready.

Digital Rewards Update: 2014 Version Delivered

Hi everyone,

We’ve just pushed out the digital distribution for the 2014 edition of 80s Adventures through BackerKit. That means:

• 2014 backers now have access to the digital core book they pledged for.
• 2024 backers also received the 2014 edition today, so you’ve got something in hand right away while we wrap up final edits on the 2024 version.

When Will the 2024 Version Be Ready?

The updated 2024 (5.5E) version of the book is in the final stages. We’re cleaning up a few remaining sections and expect to have it ready to send to all 2024 backers in the coming weeks.

Modules Coming Soon

Alongside the 2024 version, we’ll also be delivering the digital modules. These just need a last round of polish before release as well.

Living Document

That extra time before printing means we can continue refining the files before they go to press. We treat this as a living document, so if you spot typos, places that need clarification, or anything that feels off, please send those notes our way. With printing not yet finalized, there’s still an opportunity to make corrections so the physical copies are as polished as possible.

This community feedback loop is invaluable to us. Your eyes help us catch things we might miss, and it ensures the final book in your hands is the best it can be.
